Self Evaluation and Evaluation of ‘Evidence-Based’ Teaching Programmes

This can be built around the ‘5 steps’ of evidence-based practice. A practical approach is described in Sackett et al’s book "Evidence-Based Medicine – How to Practice and Teach EBM." Written predominantly for physicians, this short and very useful volume can be highly recommended for further reading.

Evaluate your Evidence-Based Practice

The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine of the University Health Network, Toronto website has practical online tables to guide self-evaluation of:

  • Critical appraisal of retrieved evidence
  • Integration of critical appraisal with clinical expertise
  • Applying the result in clinical practice
  • Teaching Evidence-Based Practice
  • Integration of EBP into Continuing Professional Development
